Unlike most screen printers, we are big fans of working with waterbased ink. We’ve got extensive experience printing with it and can achieve great results. We stock traditional transparent waterbased ink as well as opaque waterbased ink for printing on darker garments. We never charge more for waterbased printing.
Super soft/ Transparent
Looking for the softest possible feel to your prints? Transparent waterbased ink is the way to go. This ink works best on white/ light garments, and the ink must be darker than the shirt for it to show up at all. This ink has a beautiful matte finish. For a classic vintage look, try printing it over heathered shirts.
If you’re looking to use waterbased inks on dark shirts, but don’t want the added cost of discharge inks, this is the way to go. Being thicker inks, the prints are a bit heavier. They have a beautiful matte finish. To achieve a completely opaque print on a dark shirt, an underbase is required, which is billed as an additional color.

The shirts that Whitney and the Orchard Street gang did for IronCupcake were awesome. The prices were reasonable and the turnaround was great.
